BIOGRAPHY
Shannon Charlesworth was born in 1999 in Durban, South Africa and moved to the United Kingdom in 2002 where she spent most of her early years in Yorkshire. After studying a Foundation Diploma in Art and Design at Pontefract New College, Charlesworth moved to Nottinghamshire to pursue her passion for creating to study a BA (Hons) Fine Art at Nottingham Trent University. Her use of the medium of knit is with the aim to give a sense of permanence to words and phrases sourced from global affairs and the protests that occur in response. Charlesworth’s work was published in 2021 in the You Keep It Zine and she has exhibited in a plethora of group exhibitions including the 2022 BACKLIT SHOWCASE, BACKLIT and 2021 Material Dependency, Twitchell Gallery.
